Howdy!

Welcome to our photo-heavy post of all the improvements we have made on our little slice of the great outdoors AKA our backyard. Before we dive into it, let’s kick things off with some establishing B&A shots:

Ahh…it’s nice to look back at where you came from. The before photos don’t really emphasize the chain link fence, scraggly trees/branches/strangeplants/poison oak, and overall trash that we cleared out of this yard.

First things first, the star of the show, the stock tank pool area:

…and then our giant elephant ears grew in:

I think you get it. Now let’s move on to another part of the yard, shall we? Here’s the side of the garage that I painted a few weeks ago. I’ll be posting an article about that shortly. But for now, enjoy these photos:

In the back backyard (AKA mosquitoville), there was a pile of bricks and a weird slab of concrete. We decided that it wasn’t worth it to jack-hammer it up, so we placed four pallets over the slab and bricks and created a sorta platform. This project isn’t close to complete. I eventually want to paint the pallets, add black and white rugs, add nicer lounge chairs with a little table, better landscaping, and maybe some lanterns and/or a fire pit situation. For now, we can get by with this.

And the back porch with our DIY File Cabinet Planter Boxes.
